CORA – Cathedral of Robotic Artisans
A house for a robot, built by hand out of the forest around it.

CORA, the Cathedral of Robotic Artisans, was built at IAAC's Valldaura Labs during the 2023–24 MAEBB programme: a structure to house a KUKA robot, blending traditional craftsmanship with ecological innovation.

It was crafted from locally sourced, sustainable materials: timber beams, CLT columns and reused bricks. Traditional joinery, half-lap joints and mortise and tenon, was paired with modern ecological strategies including a green roof planted with native species.

It is the one collaborative project in the portfolio, and the clearest statement the practice has made: the oldest available material, worked with the newest available tool.
